Apple skillet cake
Instructions:
This cake is positively infused with flavor. The texture is ultra-tender
and moist. Visually, it is every bit as appealing as it tastes. Apples
glazed with butter and sugar are arranged over the top with a generous
sprinkling of pecans, and when cut, the interior of the cake is speckled
generously with cinnamon. It’s unlike anything you’ve ever tasted or
could hope to find in a restaurant
.
1/3 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
1¼ teaspoons ground cinnamon
5 to 6 apples, peeled and sliced

1/3 cup evaporated milk
1/3 cup water
8 servings
- Melt 1/3 cup margarine in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in 2/3 cup of the sugar and 1 teaspoon of the cinnamon. Top with the apple slices; cover and cook for 10 minutes. Top with the pecans.
- In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, the remaining 1/3 cup sugar, and remaining ¾ teaspoon cinnamon. Combine the 3 tablespoons melted margarine, the egg, milk, and water in a separate bowl.
- Add to the flour mixture and mix until just moistened. Spoon over the hot apples and pecans. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook for 20 minutes, or until firm to the touch. Turn out onto a large plate to serve.
