Beef Kushisashi
Instructions:
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- ï€ 1/4 cup chopped green onions and tops
- ï€ 2 tablespoons sugar substitute
- ï€ 1 tablespoon canola oil
- ï€ 1-1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
- ï€ 1 clove garlic, pressed
- ï€ 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger root
- ï€ 2-1/2 pounds boneless beef sirloin steak
- Blend soy sauce, green onions, sugar, oil, cornstarch, garlic, and ginger in small saucepan.
- ï€ Simmer, stirring constantly, until thickened, about 1 minute; cool.
- ï€ Cover and set aside.
- ï€ Slice beef into 1/8-inch-thick strips about 4 inches long and 1-inch wide.
- ï€ Thread onto bamboo or metal skewers keeping meat as flat as possible; brush both sides of beef with sauce.
- ï€ Place skewers on rack of broiler pan; broil to desired degree of doneness.
