Butter Braised Belgian Endive
Instructions:
This meltingly tender endive is deliciously luxurious. 4 tablespoons butter or margarine 1â„2 teaspoon sugar 1â„4 teaspoon salt 6 large heads Belgian endive, each halved Lengthwise
Makes 6 accompaniment servings. Prep: 5 minutes Cook: 25 minutes
- In 12-inch skillet, melt butter with sugar and salt over medium-low heat. Arrange endive in skillet in one layer.
- Cover and cook, turning occasionally, until tender and lightly browned, about 15 minutes.
- Remove cover; cook until half of liquid has evaporated, about 5 minutes longer.
