Cherry Coconut Bars

- Crust
- 1 cup all-purpose fl our
- 3 tablespoons confectionersâ sugar
- 1â2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
- Filling
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1â4 cup all- purpose fl our
- 1â2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3â4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1â2 cup sweetened shredded coconut
- 1â2 cup maraschino cherries, drained and quartered
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1â4 teaspoon salt

These Cherry Coconut Bars have been a family favorite for so many years.We make this delicious dessert to carry on the Christmas tradition.
-  Preheat the oven to 350°F.
-  To prepare the crust, combine the flour, confectionersâ sugar, and butter in a medium bowl; mix well. Press the mixture into an 8- inch square baking dish. Bake for 22 minutes, or until lightly golden.
-  To prepare the filling, combine the eggs, granulated sugar, flour, baking powder, walnuts, coconut, cherries, vanilla, and salt in the bowl; mix well. Spoon on top of the crust and spread evenly. Bake for 22 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven to a wire rack. Cool completely before cutting.
