Christmas Cookies
Instructions:
- 2½ cups flour
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon all spice
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup butter
- 4 eggs, beaten
- ¼ cup milk
- 2 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ cup fruit juice (or whiskey)
- 1½ cups pecans, chopped
- ½ pound candied cherries, chopped
- ½ pound candied pineapple, chopped
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Sift together flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, and all spice.
- Cream brown and white sugar into butter then add eggs and beat until mixture is smooth.
- Add baking soda to milk and blend into sugar/egg mixture.
- Add pecans, cherries, and pineapple to mixture and blend in.
- Add fruit juice or whiskey (if desired) and mix in.
- Drop from teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake 20 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
- Makes 20 dozen (240) small cookies.
