Chuck Wagon Goulash
Instructions:
- 1/8 tsp. Thyme
- 1/8 tsp. Curry
- 1/4 tsp. Cumin
- 1 to 1 1/2 Tbs. Chili powder
- 2 Tbs. Brown sugar , salt and pepper to taste
- 1 large bay leaf
- 1 medium green pepper, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 4 cloves, whole stem
- 1 celery stalk, chopped ,
- 1 lb. Ground beef
- 1 quart stewed tomatoes
- 1/2 quart water (more as needed)
- 1 – 7oz package elbow macaroni
- Brown meat in a heavy skillet.
- Add chopped onion, garlic, celery, green pepper, and sauté until onions wilt, or appear translucent.
- Add all the other ingredients.
- Bring to a boil.
- Cover and cook about 20 minutes or until macaroni is soft.
- Stir several times to prevent sticking.
- Find clove stems and bay leaf, remove before eating.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese
