Creamy Mushroom Steaks
Instructions:
- 2 pounds beef top loin steaks -- cut into 4 or 6 pieces
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- 1 each red bell pepper – cut into strips
- 1 each green bell pepper -- cut into strips
- Sauce
- 1/2 pound fresh mushrooms -- sliced2 Tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons onion -- chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup water
- 2 teaspoons soy sauce
- 1 each salt and pepper – to taste
- Saute sliced mushrooms in butter until slightly browned.
- Add in onions and saute for 3 minutes.
- Add remaining ingredients and let simmer, uncovered, until slightly thikened(you can whisk in 1-2 T soy flour that has been dissolved in 1/4 cup water if desired for a thicker sauce).
- Fry steaks in remaining butter for 2 minutes each side.
- Remove and stir fry pepper strips for 2 minutes.
- Add steaks and sauce back in and simmer 10 minutes or until steaks are at desired doneness.
