Garlicky Broccoli Pasta
Instructions:
Pasta with garlic and broccoli is a time-honored tradition and with good reason: It is absolutely delicious. 1 package (16 ounces) orecchiette or fusilli 1 bunch broccoli (about 1 pound) 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil 3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced 1â„4 cup water 1â„2 teaspoon salt 1â„2 cup freshly grated Romano cheese
Makes 6 main-dish servings. Prep: 15 minutes Cook: 30 minutes
- In large saucepot, cook pasta as label directs.
- Meanwhile, trim broccoli. Coarsely chop stems and florets. You should have about 5 cups broccoli.
- In nonstick 12-inch skillet, heat oil over medium heat until hot. Add garlic and cook, stirring, until golden, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in broccoli, water, and salt. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until broccoli is tender, 8 to 10 minutes.
- Drain pasta, reserving 1â„2 cup pasta cooking water. Return pasta to saucepot. Add Romano, broccoli mixture, and reserved cooking water to pasta; toss until well combined.
