German chocolate pie
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375 F.
- In a small saucepan, melt the chocolate and margarine over low heat, stirring to mix well. Remove from the heat and blend in the evaporated milk. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Stir in the eggs and vanilla. Gradually stir in the chocolate mixture. Pour into the pie crust. Combine the pecans and coconut and sprinkle over the filling.
- Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, until puffed and browned. Cool for about 30 minutes before serving. Refrigerate any leftovers and serve reheated or cold.
