Greek Cheeseburgers

- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ pound ground lamb
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup (6 ounces) crumbled feta cheese, plus additional for sprinkling
- ¼ cup chopped ripe olives
- ¾ teaspoon lemon-pepper marinade, divided
- ¾ cup plain yogurt
- ¼ cup shredded seeded cucumber, well-drained
- 4 pita bread rounds, cut in half
Instructions:
These burgers can be deliciously seasoned with oregano, onion and garlic.
- Combine the beef, lamb, onion, oregano, and pepper; mix well. Shape into eight 4-inch patties. Combine 1 cup of the cheese, the olives, and ½ teaspoon of the lemon-pepper marinade. Top four patties with the cheese mixture; cover with the remaining patties. Pinch the edges together to seal.
