Honey Granola Breakfast Bars
Instructions:
Instead of eating overly sweet and high-fat store-bought granola bars, we highly recommend making your own. These are quickly mixed in one bowl. 2 cups old-fashioned oats, uncooked 1 cup all-purpose flour 3â„4 cup packed light brown sugar 3â„4 cup dark seedless raisins 1â„2 cup toasted wheat germ 3â„4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 3â„4 teaspoon salt 1â„2 cup vegetable oil 1â„2 cup honey 1 large egg 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Makes 16 bars. Prep: 15 minutes Bake: 30 minutes
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease 13" by 9" baking pan.
- In large bowl, with wooden spoon, stir oats, flour, brown sugar, raisins, wheat germ, cinnamon, and salt until blended. Stir in oil, honey, egg, and vanilla until well combined. With wet hand, pat oat mixture evenly onto bottom of prepared pan.
- Bake until light golden around edges, 30 to 35 minutes. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
- When cool, cut lengthwise into 4 strips, then cut each strip crosswise into 4 pieces.
