Instructions:
This is a more generous recipe, which allows for more edgetrimming, crimping, or filling a larger pie pan if needed.
- 2 cups all-purpose flour;
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder;
- 1 teaspoon salt;
- 1⁄3 cup boiling water;
- 2⁄3 cup vegetable shortening.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, combine the boiling water and shortening and mix with a fork until creamy. Add flour mixture to water and shortening and mix until a dough forms. Chill 30 minutes to 1 hour before rolling out.
