Layered overnight salad
Instructions:
- Layer the lettuce, peas, onion, cauliflower, bell pepper, and bacon in a large, deep serving bowl.
- Spread the mayonnaise evenly over the top. (The amount varies, depending on the diameter of the bowl.) Sprinkle the sugar evenly over the mayonnaise. (Don’t omit the sugar or substitute artificial sweetener. Real granulated sugar is integral to the salad, but you can adjust the amount to taste.) Sprinkle the cheese over the top.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight. Just before serving, stir well to coat the vegetables with the dressing.
