Lemon sauce
Instructions:
- 1⁄2 cup fresh lemon juice;
- 13⁄4 cups water;
- 1 cup tightly packed light or dark brown sugar;
- 1⁄4 cup granulated sugar;
- 1⁄4 cup butter;
- 1⁄8 teaspoon salt;
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch.
- In a saucepan, combine the lemon juice, 11⁄2 cups water, sugars, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Mix the cornstarch and 1⁄4 cup water together until smooth. Stir into the boiling mixture and cook, stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened. Serve hot.
