Milk gravy
Instructions:
- 3 tablespoons bacon grease or oil
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1½ cups milk
- Pour the bacon grease into a medium skillet and heat over medium heat.
- Add the flour and stir to combine. Add the salt and pepper.
- Cook, stirring constantly, until the flour begins to brown.
- Slowly pour in the milk, stirring constantly with a wire whisk to break up any lumps.
- Lower the heat to low and continue cooking and stirring until the gravy thickens.
- This will happen pretty fast, so stay on your toes!
- If you prefer a thinner gravy, add more milk.
