Old-fashioned caramel frosting
Instructions:
- 1⁄4 cup butter;
- 1⁄2 cup tightly packed brown sugar;
- 2 tablespoons milk;
- 11⁄2 cups powdered sugar;
- 1 teaspoon vanilla.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter. Add brown sugar and stir over low heat for 2 minutes. Add milk and heat to a boil, stirring. Remove pan from heat and gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until smooth and creamy. Add vanilla. If necessary, add a few drops more milk.
