Old-Fashioned Christmas Tea Cakes
Instructions:
Sometimes the old recipes are the best.
1 cup margarine
1 cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon nutmeg
3½ cups all-purpose flour
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Grease a baking sheet.
- In a large bowl, beat together sugar and margarine until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs and nutmeg. Beat in flour ½ cup at a time, beating until blended and smooth.
- Drop batter by rounded tablespoonfuls onto floured surface. Roll cakes out to ¼” thickness.
- Place cakes 1” apart on prepared baking sheet.
- Bake cakes in batches until golden and set, approximately 10 minutes.
- Transfer baking sheet to a wire rack to cool.
