Oven Baked Pepper Bacon
Instructions:
The perfect way to make bacon for a crowd: in the oven! This method works best when using lean bacon, but if the bacon renders an excessive amount of fat, pour it off before switching racks. 11â„2 pounds sliced lean bacon 21â„2 teaspoons coarsely ground black pepper
Makes 12 accompaniment servings. Prep: 10 minutes Bake: 25 minutes
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Arrange bacon slices in two jelly-roll or roasting pans, overlapping the lean edge of each bacon slice with fat edge of the next. Sprinkle pepper evenly over bacon. Bake until bacon is golden brown and crisp, about 25 minutes, rotating baking pans between upper and lower oven racks halfway through baking.
- Transfer bacon to paper towels. Keep warm until ready to serve.
