Peppered Honey Turnips
Instructions:
The honey added to these turnips helps to bring out their full flavor by caramelizing them. 1â„2 cup chicken broth 1â„4 cup white wine 2 tablespoons butter or margarine 1 teaspoon salt 1â„2 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper 3 pounds small turnips, peeled and each cut into 8 wedges 1â„4 cup honey
Makes 12 accompaniment servings. Prep: 15 minutes Cook: 25 minutes
- In nonstick 12-inch skillet, heat broth, wine, butter, salt, and pepper to boiling over medium-high heat.
- Add turnips and cook, stirring occasionally, until most of liquid has evaporated, 10 to 12 minutes. Stir in honey; cook, stirring frequently, until turnips are very tender and browned, 13 to 15 minutes longer.
