Pizza with Mushroom, Honey and Chevre
Instructions:
This pizza is amazing—the sweet honey and the sour cheese complement each other so well. A little honey in the dough makes the pizza extra crispy
Pizza dough:
1 cup lukewarm water
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon dry yeast
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons olive oil
Serves 4
- Filling:
- 2 small shallots, thinly sliced
- 1 cup fresh mushrooms, your preference of type
- 1/2 cup crumbled chèvre
- 1 tablespoon honey
- Flaky sea salt
- Fresh sage
- Start with the dough: mix water, honey and yeast in medium-size bowl.
- Let sit for 5 minutes so the yeast starts to work. Add flour, salt and oil.
- Work the dough well together. Cover with plastic until it rises, about 1 hour.
- On a baking tray press the dough out with your fingers, to form a large pizza. Add shallots, mushrooms and chèvre. Drizzle with honey and a little salt.
- Bake at 450 F for about 5 to 6 minutes, or until golden and crisp. Serve topped with fresh sage
