Pork in Cider
Instructions:
- 1 medium onion, chopped finely
- Butter for frying
- 1 Bramley apple, peeled and sliced
- 6 pork steaks
- 200ml cider
- 3 handfuls spinach
- 150ml double cream
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Preheat the oven to 180ËšC/gas mark 4.
- Fry the onions in a little butter until soft. Add the apple slices and cook for 2–3 minutes. Put the mixture into an ovenproof dish.
- In the same pan, fry the steaks lightly on both sides and place on top of the onions and apples.
- Pour in the cider and cover the dish.
- Place in the oven and cook for 25 minutes in the preheated oven.
- Remove from the oven and stir in the spinach and cream. Season to taste.
- Heat for 10 minutes in the oven before serving.
- Serving suggestion :This is good served with steamed cauliflower and Dauphinoise potatoes
