  Ingredients:
    • 1/2 pound of navy beans
    • 6 slices of bacon
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 1/2 cup of chopped celery
    • Salt and Black Pepper to taste

How to make
Bean and Bacon Soup
  • Soak the navy beans in cold water for about 2 hours.
  • Drain the beans and wash with cold w ater.
  • Place the beans in a pot, cover with water and cook for about 45 minutes to an hour.
  • Add the chopped onion, celery, salt, and pepper and cook for about a half an hour or until the beans are tender.
  • While the beans are cooking fry the bacon until crisp.
  • After the bacon has cooled crumble in the pot of beans and let simmer for a few more minutes.
