  Ingredients:
    • 1 medium onion, chopped finely
    • Butter for frying
    • 1 Bramley apple, peeled and sliced
    • 6 pork steaks
    • 200ml cider
    • 3 handfuls spinach
    • 150ml double cream
    • Salt and black pepper to taste

How to make
Pork in Cider
  • Preheat the oven to 180˚C/gas mark 4.
  • Fry the onions in a little butter until soft. Add the apple slices and cook for 2–3 minutes. Put the mixture into an ovenproof dish.
  • In the same pan, fry the steaks lightly on both sides and place on top of the onions and apples.
  • Pour in the cider and cover the dish.
  • Place in the oven and cook for 25 minutes in the preheated oven.
  • Remove from the oven and stir in the spinach and cream. Season to taste.
  • Heat for 10 minutes in the oven before serving.
  • Serving suggestion :This is good served with steamed cauliflower and Dauphinoise potatoes
