Ingredients:
1 medium onion, chopped finely
Butter for frying
1 Bramley apple, peeled and sliced
6 pork steaks
200ml cider
3 handfuls spinach
150ml double cream
Salt and black pepper to taste
How to make
Pork in Cider
Preheat the oven to 180˚C/gas mark 4.
Fry the onions in a little butter until soft. Add the apple slices and cook for 2–3 minutes. Put the mixture into an ovenproof dish.
In the same pan, fry the steaks lightly on both sides and place on top of the onions and apples.
Pour in the cider and cover the dish.
Place in the oven and cook for 25 minutes in the preheated oven.
Remove from the oven and stir in the spinach and cream. Season to taste.
Heat for 10 minutes in the oven before serving.
Serving suggestion :This is good served with steamed cauliflower and Dauphinoise potatoes
