Roasted Beef Tenderloin
Instructions:
- Beef tenderloin can be brushed with a mixture of spices and fresh herbs of your choice. Served hot or at room temperature, it’s perfect party fare.
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
- 1 whole beef tenderloin (5 pounds), trimmed and tied
- Preheat oven to 450°F. In small bowl, combine butter, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper. Brush mixture on tenderloin.
- Place tenderloin in 151â„2" by 101â„2" jelly-roll pan and roast until meat thermometer inserted in center of meat reaches 140°F, about 50 minutes. Internal temperature of meat will rise to 145°F (medium) upon standing. Or roast until desired doneness.
- Transfer tenderloin to warm platter and let stand 15 minutes to set juices for easier slicing. Makes 12 main-dish servings.
