Salmon with Mustard Dill Sauce
Instructions:
We brought the flavors of Swedish gravlax to the grill. Traditional gravlax is made by marinating raw salmon in a savory mixture of fresh dill, sugar, and salt, then serving it with a sweet mustard sauce. Grilled Salmon 2 tablespoons sugar 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar 3â„4 teaspoon salt 1â„4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper 4 salmon steaks, each 3â„4 inch thick (about 6 ounces each)
- Mustard-Dill Sauce
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
- 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 3 tablespoons light mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 4 teaspoons white wine vinegar
- 1â„4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
- Prepare outdoor grill for direct grilling over medium heat.
- Prepare salmon: In medium bowl, mix sugar, dill, vinegar, salt, and pepper.
- With tweezers, remove small bones from salmon; add salmon steaks to bowl with sugar mixture, turning each to coat. Let stand at room temperature 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare sauce: In small bowl, mix dill, mustard, mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, and pepper.
- Place salmon on grill and cook, turning once, until just opaque throughout, 8 to 9 minutes. Serve with mustard sauce.
