Sausage gravy
Instructions:
- ¼ pound sausage
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1½ cups milk
- Brown the sausage in a medium skillet over medium heat. Remove from the skillet and crumble it.
- Return the sausage to the skillet and stir the flour into the sausage and sausage grease. Add the salt and pepper.
- Cook, stirring constantly, until the flour begins to brown. Slowly pour in the milk, stirring constantly with a wire whisk to break up any lumps.
- Lower the heat to low and continue cooking and stirring until the gravy thickens. This will happen pretty fast, so stay on your toes! If you prefer a thinner gravy, add more milk.
