Scalloped Oysters II
Instructions:
- This is a family favorite for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- 1 pint oysters
- 1/2 cup oyster liquor (the liquid oysters are sold in)
- 2 tbsp. light cream
- 1/2 cup white bread crumbs
- 1 cup cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- Salt
- Pepper
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- Mix bread and cracker crumbs with melted butter.
- Spread thin layer of crumbs on bottom of greased shallow baking dish.
- Cover with half of oysters, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and add half of cream and oyster liquor.
- Repeat layers, and cover top with crumbs.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- If you increase the quantities, use a larger dish and still only two layers.
