Simple Berry Tart
Instructions:
- This is half the work of, and contains far less fat than, Fresh
Strawberry Tart with Pastry Cream (page 939). Use any
berries you like and top with Whipped Cream (page 882)
or ice cream (to make your own, see pages 961–963).
- 1 recipe Sweet Tart Crust
, fitted into a tart pan and chilled - 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 3 cups strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and/or blueberries, picked over, stemmed, and hulled if necessary
- Simple Berry Tart with Chocolate.
- Use milk, dark, or white chocolate: Spread a thin layer of melted chocolate, about 3 ounces, in the empty prebaked tart shell before adding the berries
