Traditional Baked apples
Instructions:
- Slice off the tops of the apples and reserve them.
- Remove the cores using an apple corer, or cut around the cores with a small sharp knife and push them out.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Cut off the bottoms of the cores and put them back into the apples. This will help to keep the filling in the apples as they bake.
- Put the apples into a baking pan and drizzle with brandy.
- Pour the honey over top.
- Dust the apples with cinnamon.
- Put some butter inside each apple.
- Top each apple with a lid and cover the pan with foil.
- Bake for 1 hour, until the apples are tender.
- Pour the cream into a large bowl, and add the sugar.
- Whip until soft peaks form.
- Lift warm apples out from the pan and onto serving plates. Spoon over the pan juices and serve with the cream.
