Turtle Cookie Bars
Instructions:
1 stick of butter, softened
6 Tbl. brown sugar
6 Tbl. granulated sugar
1 large egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
1 jar Caramel Ice Cream Topping (12 oz.)
Active time: 15 Minutes
Total time: 45 Minutes
Yield: 24 servings
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Using electric mixer, in a medium bowl, cream butter, brown and white sugars, egg and vanilla.
In another bowl, stir together flour, baking soda and salt. Mix well. Add chocolate chips and walnuts to coat.
Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix well until a soft dough forms.
Set aside 1-1/2 cups of dough and press the remaining in an ungreased 8-inch square pan. Pour caramel topping over dough and spread to cover. Crumble the reserved dough on top and lightly press down.
Bake for 25-28 minutes or until golden brown. Let sit in pan for 2 hours before cutting.
