Walnuts in port syrup
Instructions:
- Stir together the port and sugar in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens to the consistency of pancake syrup, about 4 minutes.
- Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the walnuts. Cool for at least 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve slightly warm or at room temperature.
- Make-ahead note: You can make this up to 1 month ahead. Store covered and refrigerated. Return to room temperature or reheat gently before serving.
