Wisconsin Four-Cheese Pizza

- 1¼ cups crushed tomatoes or sauce tomatoes
- 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- ¼ teaspoon dried basil, crushed
- ¼ teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
- 9 ounces prepared pizza dough
- ½ cup Italian sausage, crumbled, browned, drained
- ¾ cup sliced mushrooms
- ¼ cup (1 ounce) grated Asiago cheese
- â…“ cup chopped sweet green peppers
- ¾ cup (3 ounces) shredded provolone cheese
- 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
Instead of making the sauce, you can substitute 2¾ quarts of prepared pizza sauce for the tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, basil, and oregano.
- Mix the tomatoes with the Parmesan cheese, basil, and oregano for the sauce.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Shape the dough into a 12-inch round crust. Place the crust on a pizza pan or large baking sheet. Ladle the sauce over the crust; spread evenly. Top the pizza with the remaining ingredients. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until the crust is crisp and golden.
